Details:
On or about Sunday, November 28th, 2021, around 7:29 in the evening, an accident between a flatbed truck, a pickup truck, and a van left one man dead and sent another to the hospital. Local law enforcement representatives said the accident was reported along County Road 271 just outside Hillsboro in Lawrence County, Alabama.
Deputies from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department said 54-year-old Bart Suggs was killed and 54-year-old Terri Suggs was injured when the van they were riding in and a nearby pickup truck were allegedly struck by a Ford F-350 flatbed truck when it swerved to avoid a collision. Emergency responders rushed Bart Suggs to Lawrence Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival. Terri Suggs was taken to Decatur General Hospital with unspecified injuries.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is roughly 8 miles south of Hillsboro, which is about 91 miles north of Birmingham.
Officers are still investigating the crash.
