On or about Wednesday, January 13th, 2021, around 10:45 in the morning, an accident between a construction flagger and a utility truck claimed the life of one woman. Investigators said the accident was reported on Highway 26 in Sandy, Oregon.
Troopers from the Oregon State Police said 50-year-old Brenda Stader was killed when she was allegedly truck by a utility truck while she was flagging traffic near a work zone. Stader died of her injuries at the scene of the accident. Police identified the driver of the utility truck as Joshua Rinard, who was unhurt in the accident.
Highway 26 runs east and west through the center of Sandy, which is located about 31 miles east of Portland, according to Google Maps.
Law enforcement from multiple agencies are assisting in the investigation.
