Details:
On or about Sunday, March 13th, 2022, around 10:05 at night, a serious hit-and-run accident claimed the life of a 26-year-old man on a bike. Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along the Interstate 35 Access Road near the Martinez Loop in Kyle, Texas.
Troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety said 26-year-old Bret Steinmann was killed when he was allegedly hit by a vehicle as he was riding his bike at or near the exchange of the I-35 service road and the Martinez Loop. After the initial accident, the vehicle that Steinman fled the scene. Emergency responders rushed Steinman to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival.
Authorities later arrested Elizabeth Jenell Mitchell for Accident Involving Death in connection with the accident.
