Details:
On or about Monday, January 4th, 2021, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a young pedestrian sent a 10-year-old boy to the hospital. Deputies from the Wood County Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened along Main Street in Quitman, Texas.
Investigators said an as-of-yet unidentified 10-year-old boy was injured when he was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer while he was walking alongside or trying to cross Main Street. Paramedics airlifted the boy to a hospital in Tyler with unspecified injuries. Medical staff did not release an update on the child’s condition, but did note he was able to talk to police and medical personnel.
Looking at the area on Google Maps, Main Street (Highway 37) runs north and south through the center of Quitman. Quitman is located about 94 miles east of the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex.
