Details:
On or about Sunday, November 29th, 2020, around 1:00 in the afternoon, an accident with a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a child riding his bike. State Troopers said the accident happened on Highway 35 in Ford River, Michigan.
Deputies from the Delta County Sheriff’s Office said an as-of-yet unidentified 12-year-old boy was killed when he was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer while riding his bike on or near the highway. Emergency responders pronounced the boy dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident.
Google Maps shows Highway 35 runs north and south with two lanes, which closely hug the shoreline of Lake Michigan. Ford River is situated in Michigan’s upper peninsula, about 103 miles north of Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene of the accident to aid in the investigation.
