On or about Monday, October 12th, 2020 around 4:30 in the afternoon, a child was killed in a pedestrian accident with a utility truck. The accident happened at or near the intersection of Schendel Avenue and Walker Road in Beaverton, Oregon.
Local police representatives said that the 3 or 4-year-old child was killed when they were hit by a utility truck while they were playing or riding their bike near the roadway. It is not clear if the child died at the scene or after being rushed to a nearby hospital.
An examination of the intersection on Google Maps shows that Walker Road runs northwest/southeast while Schendel runs roughly north and south. The intersection is protected by a stoplight.
Beaverton is located about 8 miles west of Portland.
