Details:
On or about Monday, April 11th, 2022, around 1:00 in the afternoon, an accident with a dump truck and two pedestrians left a woman and child dead. Authorities from the NYSP said the accident was reported at the intersection of Mary Avenue and Stanley Street in Poughkeepsie, New York.
Law enforcement representatives said one as-of-yet unidentified 3-year-old child was killed and a 72-year-old woman was injured when they were allegedly hit by a dump truck as they were walking near or trying to cross the street at Mary and Stanley. Emergency responders pronounced the child dead when they arrived at the scene, while the woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of Mary and Stanley is on the northeast side of Poughkeepsie.
Officials are still examining the factors behind the accident.
