On or about Wednesday, December 30th, 2020, around 7:31 in the morning, an accident between a car and a tractor-trailer left a 26-year-old Riverside woman dead. Highway Patrol spokespeople said the accident happened at the intersection of Harville Avenue at Cajalco Expressway just outside Perris, California.
Police said 26-year-old Chrystal Romero died when her car allegedly collided with a tractor-trailer as it was turning across traffic at the intersection. Emergency responders pronounced Romero dead of her injuries when she was cut free from the wreckage. Officers did not mention any other injuries stemming from the crash.
The scene of the accident is located in unincorporated Mead Valley, just outside Perris. According to Google Maps, Perris is situated about 71 miles southeast of Los Angeles.
California Highway Patrol and officials from Riverside County assisted at the scene of the collision.
