Details:
On or about Thursday, February 10th, 2022, around 5:40 in the evening, an accident between a dump truck and two pickup trucks left one man dead and sent two others to the hospital. Officials from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported at or near the intersection of Highway 190 and RM 165 in Hays County, Texas.
Law enforcement representatives said 34-year-old Danny Wilford was killed and two other people were injured when a heavy-duty Dodge 3500 pickup truck allegedly slammed into Wilford’s dump truck as the pickup was turning out of a business. After the initial collision, Wilford’s dump truck tipped, and a nearby Ford F-150 pickup truck veered off the road and rolled when it attempted to avoid the collision. Wilford was pronounced dead of his injuries after the accident, while the driver of the Dodge and the driver of the Ford were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 31 miles southwest of downtown Austin.
Police are still trying to pin down the cause of the accident.
