Details:
On or about Tuesday, March 9th, 2021, around 10:50 in the morning, an accident between a dump truck and a car left a 31-year-old woman dead and sent two other people to the hospital. Deputies from the Cook County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported in the southbound lanes of Interstate 57 near the exchange with 99th Street in Chicago, Illinois.
Authorities said an SUV allegedly struck the back of a dump truck that had pulled onto the southbound shoulder with a flat tire. Paramedics pronounced 31-year-old Darinta Latasha Washington dead after the accident. The driver of the SUV and another passenger were taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
According to Google Maps, the accident happened just south of downtown Chicago.
Illinois State Police assisted at the scene of the crash.
