On or about Monday, March 14th, 2022, around 10:07 in the morning, an accident between a train and a pedestrian left a 61-year-old Centerville man dead. Authorities from the area said the accident was reported along North Jacksonburg Road in Wayne County, Indiana.
Law enforcement spokespeople said 61-year-old Daryl King was killed when he was allegedly struck by a Norfolk Southern train while he was loading grain trailer near North Jacksonburg Road. After the initial accident, King was buried by grain. Paramedics pronounced King dead of his injuries a short time after the accident. Officials did not mention any other injuries stemming from the accident.
According to Google Maps, Wayne County is about 66 miles east of downtown Indianapolis.
Authorities are still investigating the accident.
