Details:
On or about Friday, November 27th, 2020, around 11:45 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car claimed the life of a 91-year-old woman. Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened at the intersection of County Road A and Highway 13 in Marathon County, Wisconsin.
Officers said 91-year-old Faye Amo was killed when her car was allegedly hit by a southbound 18-wheeler that ran a red light at the intersection. Amo was attempting to turn from eastbound County Road A when she was hit. Paramedics pronounced Amo dead of her injuries at the scene of the accident.
No other injuries were mentioned by police in their preliminary statement.
Google Streetview shows Highway 13 runs north and south with two lanes, while County Road A runs east and west with two lanes. The intersection is controlled by a traffic light. The area is located about 67 miles east of Eau Claire.
Police are still examining the circumstances surrounding the crash.
