On or about Thursday, April 22nd, 2021, around 10:25 in the morning, an accident between a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer left a Carthage man dead. Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened along State Highway 229 in rural Dallas County, Arkansas.
Troopers from the Arkansas State Police said 62-year-old Gary Eugene Rogers was northbound in a pickup truck when he allegedly crossed over the center line and struck a southbound tractor-trailer. Emergency responders pronounced Rogers dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident.
State Highway 229 cuts north and south through Dallas County, which is about 65 miles south of Little Rock, according to Google Maps.
Police are still investigating the collision.
