On or about Thursday, March 17th, 2022, around 4:15 in the afternoon, an accident between a passenger vehicle and a pickup truck towing a trailer sent a 61-year-old woman to the hospital. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported at the intersection of Highway 290 and Jozwiak Road just outside Brenham, Texas.
Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said 61-year-old Gladys Rush was injured when a Toyota Tundra towing a trailer allegedly failed to yield at the intersection of Highway 290 and Jozwiak Road when it struck Rush’s vehicle. Paramedics transported Rush to a nearby hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity stemming from the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance from Brenham, which is about 76 miles northwest of downtown Houston.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident.
