Details:
On or about Saturday, January 29th, 2022, around 10:24 in the morning, an accident with a loose trailer and a passenger vehicle left one woman dead and sent another person to the hospital. Troopers from the OHP said the accident was reported along State Highway 76 in Carter County, Texas.
Spokespeople from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said 84-year-old Gwendolyn Spellman was killed and 56-year-old Gene Spellman was injured when a trailer allegedly broke free of a pickup truck it was being towed by before it veered into the oncoming lanes and struck the Spellman’s vehicle. Emergency responders rushed Gwendolyn and Gene Spellman to a nearby hospital where Gwendolyn succumbed to her injuries.
According to Google Maps, Carter County is about 106 miles south of Oklahoma City.
Police are still investigating the accident.
