Heather Vanleeuwen was killed in a head-on crash with a semi-truck while driving along State Highway 39 in Wilson County, KS. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol the accident took place around 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 3, 2025. Vanleeuwen’s eastbound Ford Explorer reportedly drifted across the center line, where it collided with the westbound semi being driven by Ruslan Shcherbakov. The SUV then went off the road and overturned before coming to a stop. Vanleeuwen was pronounced dead at the scene, and Shcherbakov was uninjured. The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
