Details:
On or about Thursday, July 8th, 2021, around 1:30 in the afternoon, an accident between a pedestrian and a recreational vehicle claimed the life of a 29-year-old Huntington man. Officials from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along the northbound side of Highway 59 in Polk County, Texas.
Investigators said 29-year-old James Robinson was killed when he was allegedly struck by a recreational vehicle as he was walking along or trying to cross Highway 59. Emergency responders pronounced Robinson dead of his injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene of the incident. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their preliminary statement on the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is situated about 4 miles north of Corrigan, which is about 95 miles north of Houston.
Police are still investigating the accident.
