On or about Tuesday, June 22nd, 2021, around 12:05 in the afternoon, an accident between a car and a tractor-trailer left a 87-year-old Lewiston woman dead. Officials from the MSP said the accident was reported along Route 196 at or near the intersection with Littlefield Road in Lisbon, Maine.
Investigators said 87-year-old Juliette Ouellette was killed when her car and a tractor-trailer collided under unspecified circumstances when one of them may have turned onto Route 196 from Littlefield Road. Paramedics pronounced Ouellette dead of her injuries at the scene of the collision. Police identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as 67-year-old Lewis Phillips, who was unhurt in the accident.
According to Google Maps, Route 196 runs north and south through the center of Lisbon, which is about 31 miles north of downtown Portland.
Maine State Police and local authorities assisted at the scene of the accident.
