Details:
On or about Tuesday, October 13th, 2020, an accident between a tractor-trailer hauling water and a car left a 71-year-old Odessa woman dead. The accident took place on Road W Northeast in Grant County, Washington.
Officers have said that 71-year-old Kelly Korpinen was killed when the vehicle she was driving stopped or slowed in the northbound lanes during a dust storm before it was allegedly rear-ended by an 18-wheeler driven by 27-year-old Randy Gross. Emergency responders pronounced Korpinen dead of her injuries at the scene of the accident. Gross was unhurt.
Looking at the area on Google Maps shows that Road W NE is a two lane roadway that runs north and south through a rural area. The scene of the accident was about six miles north of Ruff, which is located roughly 16 miles northeast of Moses Lake.
State and local law enforcement are still investigating.
