On or about Friday, January 1st, 2021, around 3:45 in the morning, a hit-and-run accident between a box truck and a pedestrian sent a 25-year-old man to the hospital with serious injuries. Law enforcement spokespeople said the accident happened on the southbound side of Interstate 91 in Rockingham, Vermont.
Vermont State Police said 25-year-old Kyle Uhlman was injured when he was allegedly hit by a passing box truck when he exited his vehicle following a previous accident. The box truck subsequently fled the scene of the accident. Paramedics rushed Uhlman to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Hospital in a helicopter with serious injuries.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 91 is four lanes in the area, with a grassy median dividing north and southbound traffic. Rockingham is located about 86 miles north of Springfield, Massachusetts.
Police are still looking for the box truck.
