On or about Friday, October 29th, 2021, around 8:23 at night, a hit-and-run accident between a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer left a New York woman dead. Troopers from the KSP said the accident was reported along the southbound side of Interstate 35 in Franklin County, Kansas.
Representatives from the Kansas Highway Patrol said 54-year-old Lori Anne Maxwell was killed when she was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer when she may have exited her vehicle following a road rage incident on I-35. The tractor-trailer fled the scene of the accident. Paramedics pronounced the woman dead of her injuries. Police are still looking for the tractor-trailer.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 35 runs north and south through Franklin County, which is about 55 miles southwest of Kansas City.
