Details:
On or about Monday, November 2nd, 2020, around 9:15 in the morning, an accident between a car and a charter bus left a man and a child dead. State Troopers said the accident happened on Route 1 in Thomaston, Maine.
Officials have said that an as-of-yet unidentified male and a child passenger were killed when their car and a Concord Coach Lines bus collided head-on near the intersection with Route 131. Several other vehicles, including a dump truck then collided in a chain-reaction event after the initial accident.
First responders pronounced the man and child dead at the scene of the accident. Paramedics also airlifted one woman from one of the other vehicles to the hospital with unknown injuries.
Examining Main Street (Route 1) on Google Maps shows a four lane roadway with a yellow line dividing east and westbound traffic. Thomaston is located about 73 miles northeast of Portland.
The investigation into the fatal accident is still active and ongoing.
