On or about Sunday, March 20th, 2022, around 3:00 in the morning, a two-vehicle car accident with an alleged drunk driver sent two people to the hospital. Officers from the CCPD said the accident was reported along North Padre Island Drive at Highway 44 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Law enforcement representatives from the Corpus Christi Police Department said two as-of-yet unidentified individuals were injured when a vehicle allegedly struck another car head-on while driving the wrong direction on NPID. Emergency responders transported both drivers to the hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity.
Officials have since charged the wrong-way driver with intoxication assault in connection with the accident.
Authorities are still investigating the accident.
