Details:
On or about Sunday, February 20th, 2022, around 9:00 at night, a hit-and-run accident between a tow truck and a pedestrian left one man dead. Officials from the area said the accident was reported at the intersection of Linden Boulevard at 237th Street in Elmont, New York.
Officers from the NYPD said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was injured when they were allegedly hit by a tow truck in a crosswalk at the intersection of Linden Boulevard at 237th Street. After the initial impact with the pedestrian, the tow truck allegedly fled the scene. Paramedics transported the pedestrian to the hospital with an amputated leg stemming from the accident.
Authorities have since arrested the driver of the tow truck in connection with the incident.
According to Google Maps, Elmont is situated on the western side of Long Island.
Police are still investigating the accident.
