On or about Wednesday, October 13th, 2021, around 1:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and an 18-wheeler sent a truck driver to the hospital. Troopers from the NCHP said the accident was reported along the southbound side of Interstate 95 in Robeson County, North Carolina.
Law enforcement representatives said one as-of-yet unidentified person was injured when the 18-wheeler they were driving allegedly struck a tractor-trailer that was driving slowly due to a blown tire. Paramedics airlifted the 18-wheeler driver to a hospital in Chapel Hill after he was cut from the wreckage. Police did not mention any other injuries stemming from the collision.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 95 runs north and south through Robeson County, which is about 38 miles south of Fayetteville.
Authorities are still examining the factors that may have led to the accident.
