On or about Wednesday, March 17th, 2021, around 3:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car sent a woman to the hospital by helicopter. Troopers from the DSP said the accident happened at the intersection of Route 41 and Valley Road in Hockessin, Delaware.
Police said one as-of-yet unidentified 53-year-old woman was injured when her car and a tractor-trailer collided under unknown conditions. Emergency responders airlifted the woman to Christiana Hospital with unspecified injuries. Officials did not mention any other injuries in their initial statement on the crash.
According to Google Maps, Hockessin is roughly ten miles northwest of downtown Wilmington.
Police are still investigating.
