On or about Friday, October 9th, 2020, a single-vehicle tractor-trailer accident sent one person to the hospital. Police responded to the accident in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 near Portland Avenue in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Troopers from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said that one as-of-yet unidentified person was injured when the tractor-trailer they were a passenger in allegedly lost control and rolled on Interstate 40 eastbound. The driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured, but a passenger was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Authorities arrested the unidentified truck driver, but the charges were unrelated to the accident.
The accident happened in the eastern part of Oklahoma City. Interstate 80 cuts directly through the heart of downtown OKC. The ramp leading to westbound I-44 was closed due to the crash.
State and local law enforcement are still investigating.
