On or about Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021, around 4:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a pickup truck, a passenger vehicle, and a flatbed truck left at least one individual dead. Officials from the MSHP said the accident was reported at the intersection of 7th Street and Central City Road in Joplin, Missouri.
Investigators said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when a flatbed truck allegedly ran a stop sign at the intersection of 7th Street and Central City Road, causing two vehicles to swerve in order to avoid the flatbed truck. Those two vehicles collided, and the flatbed truck fled the scene of the accident. Emergency responders pronounced one person dead a short time after the collision.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of 7th Street and Central City Road is on the west side of Joplin.
Officials are still looking into the cause of the accident.
