Details:
On or about Tuesday, June 7th, 2022, around 1:30 in the afternoon, a hit-and-run accident between a flatbed truck and a scooter left one individual dead. Officials from the OSP said the accident was reported at the intersection of Northwest 100th Avenue and Northeast Glisan Street in Portland, Oregon.
Representatives from the Oregon State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when they were allegedly hit by a flatbed truck as they were riding a scooter at or near 100th Avenue and Glisan St. After the initial accident, the flatbed truck fled the scene. Emergency responders pronounced the driver of the scooter dead of their injuries after the accident.
Authorities have since charged 41-year-old Kenlly Leyvachi with first-degree manslaughter, reckless driving and hit and run in connection with the incident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is in the Hazelwood area of Portland.
Police are still investigating.
