On or about Friday, October 29th, 2021, around 2:39 in the afternoon, a serious accident between a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck left one man dead and sent a 33-year-old Texas woman to the hospital. Officials from the ISP said the accident was reported along Highway 26 in Bonneville County, Idaho.
Authorities from the Idaho State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified man was killed and a 33-year-old woman from Texas was injured when a pickup truck allegedly crossed over the center line of Highway 26 and slammed into a tractor-trailer in the oncoming lanes. Paramedics pronounced the driver of the pickup truck dead, while a 33-year-old passenger in the tractor-trailer was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries after the accident.
According to Google Maps, Highway 26 winds east and west through Bonneville County, with the scene of the accident not far from the Swan Valley town line.
Police are still looking into the cause of the crash.
