On or about Friday, November 12th, 2021, around 1:00 in the morning, a major accident between a car and a tractor-trailer left one person dead and sent another to the hospital. Representatives from the FHP said the accident was reported along Martin Luther King Boulevard near the intersection with Waring Drive in Tampa, Florida.
Authorities from the Florida Highway Patrol said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed and a 27-year-old Gulfport, Mississippi man was injured when a car allegedly turned across traffic and into the path of a tractor-trailer. Emergency responders pronounced the 53-year-old truck driver dead of his injuries after the accident, while the 27-year-old driver of the car was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Waring Drive is situated on the east side of Tampa.
Police are still investigating the accident.
