Details:
On or about Thursday, August 19th, 2021, around 3:00 in the afternoon, a single-vehicle mail truck accident left one person dead. Officials from the ASP said the accident was reported along the northbound side of Interstate 17 in Anthem, Arizona.
Troopers from the Arizona State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified person was killed when the mail truck they were in allegedly lost control and rolled off the northbound side of Interstate 17. Paramedics pronounced one person dead after the accident, but it is not immediately clear if they died at the scene or after being rushed to a nearby hospital. Police did not mention any other injuries in their preliminary report on the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 17 runs north and south through Anthem, which is about 33 miles north of downtown Phoenix.
Officials hope to release more information about the accident as soon as it becomes available.
