Details:
On or about Friday, October 30th, 2020, around 6:05 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a box truck left one person dead and sent another to the hospital in critical condition. Authorities said the accident happened in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 north of Walterboro in Colleton County, South Carolina.
Police have said that one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed and another was seriously hurt when a box truck was allegedly struck from behind by a tractor-trailer The box truck veered off the side of the interstate after the initial collision. Paramedics pronounced the driver of the tractor-trailer dead, while the driver of the box truck was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Google Maps shows that Interstate 95 is four lanes in that area, with a wide, grassy median dividing north and southbound traffic. Colleton County is about 53 miles west of Charleston.
Police are still investigating the crash.
