Details:
On or about Friday, November 19th, 2021, around 2:00 in the morning, a major accident between a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer left one person dead. Troopers from the MSP said the accident was reported along the northbound side of Interstate 270 in Germantown, Maryland.
Investigators from the Maryland State Police said one as-of-unidentified individual was killed when the Ford Fusion they were in was allegedly struck from behind by a tractor-trailer on northbound I-270. Emergency responders pronounced the driver of the Fusion dead of their injuries a short time after the accident. Police did not mention any other injuries.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 270 runs north and south through Germantown, which is about 48 miles southwest of downtown Baltimore.
Officials are still working to pin down the cause of the accident.
