On or about on Saturday, January 22nd, 2022, around 6:30 in the morning, a major tractor-trailer accident with a disabled vehicle and a pedestrian left one individual dead. Troopers from the OSHP said the accident was reported along the eastbound side of Interstate 70 in Franklin County, Ohio.
Officers said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly slammed into a disabled vehicle as the victim was standing nearby. Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead of his injuries a short time after the collision. Paramedics transported the driver of the tractor-trailer to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 70 cuts east and west through Franklin County, with the scene of the accident about 26 miles west of downtown Columbus.
Police are still investigating.
