On or about Tuesday, August 17th, 2021, around 5:19 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a cyclist claimed the life of a 70-year-old man. Deputies from the Cook County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported in the 1400 block of South Museum Campus Drive in Chicago, Illinois.
Local law enforcement officials said one as-of-yet unidentified 70-year-old man was killed when the bike he was riding allegedly struck an illegally parked tractor-trailer as he was riding down South Museum Campus Drive. Paramedics rushed the cyclist to Northwestern Medical Center where he died of his injuries a short time after his arrival. Authorities cited the driver of the tractor-trailer for parking in a no-parking and no-standing zone after the incident.
According to Google Maps is situated a short distance southeast of downtown Chicago, on the Field Museum property.
Police are still investigating the accident.
