On or about Tuesday, February 15th, 2022, around 6:30 in the morning, an accident between a pickup truck towing a trailer and a passenger vehicle left one person dead and sent another individual to the hospital. Sources from the TCSO said the accident was reported along U.S. Highway 183 near FM 973 in Travis County, Texas
Deputies from the Travis County Sheriff’s Department said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed and another was injured when a pickup truck towing a trailer allegedly struck the back of a passenger vehicle along Highway 183. After the initial collision, the passenger vehicle burst into flames. One person in the car was pronounced dead, while the driver of the pickup truck towing the trailer was taken to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 30 miles south of downtown Austin.
Police are still trying to pin down the cause of the accident.
