On or about Wednesday, December 22nd, 2021, sometime in the morning hours, an accident between a tanker truck and a garbage truck left one individual dead and sent two people to the hospital. Law enforcement spokespeople said the accident was reported along North Loop 820 near the exchange with Highway 377 in North Richland Hills, Texas.
Officers from the area said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed and two other people were injured when a tanker truck and a garbage truck collided under unspecified circumstances along Loop 820. After the initial collision, at least one of the trucks burst into flames. Paramedics pronounced one person dead at the scene, while another was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries. A third individual at the scene sustained serious burns.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance northeast of downtown Fort Worth, about 28 miles west of downtown Dallas.
Officials are still examining the circumstances surrounding the collision.
