Details:
On or about Thursday, June 17th, 2021, around 6:30 in the morning, an accident between a motorcycle and two tractor-trailers left a 54-yar-old man dead. Troopers form the NSP said the accident was reported along the westbound side of Interstate 80 near Mahoney State Park in Ashland, Nebraska.
Deputies from the Saunders County Sheriff’s Department said 54-year-old Patrick Cunningham was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly struck his motorcycle while trying to pass. The tractor-trailer allegedly struck another semi truck and a nearby van in the accident. Paramedics pronounced Cunningham dead of his injuries a short time after the accident. Police did not mention any other injuries in their preliminary statement on the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 80 runs east and west just south of Ashland, which is situated about 30 miles southeast of downtown Omaha.
State and local law enforcement agencies assisted at the scene of the accident.
