Details
Richard Thompson was seriously injured after a collision between his semi-truck and two other vehicles resulted in the 25,000 lb. metal beam he was hauling to break loose and crash through the rear window of his vehicle. Thompson was pinned inside his vehicle by the beam, and was subsequently rushed to nearby Backus Hospital for treatment. Candace Dugas and William Wernicki, two other drivers involved in the crash, were also treated for minor injuries. Connecticut State Police are currently investigating.
