Details:
On or about Monday, March 7th, 2022, around 5:00 in the afternoon, a major accident between a tractor-trailer and eight other vehicles sent five people to the hospital. Representatives from the FHP said the accident was reported along Interstate 75 in Alachua County, Florida.
Spokespeople from the Florida Highway Patrol said five as-of-yet unidentified individuals were injured when a tractor-trailer and eight other vehicles collided in a chain-reaction accident along I-75. Officials believe the accident may have started when a pickup truck towing a trailer allegedly swerved to avoid a collision and hit a nearby tractor-trailer. Six other vehicles were ensnared in the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 75 winds north and south through Alachua County.
Police are still examining all the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
