Details:
On or about Friday, February 25th, 2022, around 8:45 at night, an accident between a pedestrian and a passenger vehicle left a 40-year-old woman dead. Officers from the CCPD said the accident was reported along Farm-to-Market 1889 just outside Robstown, Texas.
Investigators said 40-year-old Tammy Jo Lara was killed when she was allegedly struck by an SUV as she was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of traffic on FM 1889. Paramedics rushed Lara to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries a short time after her arrival.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 18 miles west of downtown Corpus Christi.
Authorities are still trying to track down the driver and SUV that fled the scene.
