Details:
On or about Friday, May 21st, 2021, around 9:00 in the morning, an accident between a cement truck and a pickup truck sent three individuals to the hospital. Troopers from the CSP said the accident happened along Interstate 70 just outside New Castle in Garfield County, Colorado.
Police said three as-of-yet unidentified people were injured when a westbound cement truck allegedly lost control and crossed into the eastbound lanes where it struck a pickup truck. Emergency responders transported the driver of the cement truck, the driver of the pickup truck, and a passenger to the hospital with unknown injuries.
Officials closed the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 for several hours in order to tend to the scene of the accident.
Police are still investigating the accident.
