On or about Wednesday, December 16th, 2020, around 4:54 in the afternoon, an accident between two tractor-trailers sent three people to the hospital. Officers said the accident happened in the westbound lanes of Interstate 86 in Elmira, New York.
State Troopers said three people were injured when an 18-wheeler allegedly struck the back of another tractor-trailer in the right lane of the highway. Three people were treated for minor injuries after the accident. Police did not specify if they were treated at the scene or transported to a nearby hospital.
Police said the area was covered in a blanket of snow and ice from a recent snowstorm, and advised motorists to use caution on the roads.
