Details:
On or about Saturday, January 8th, 2022, sometime in the hours after dark, an accident between an SUV and a tractor-trailer claimed the lives of three individuals. Authorities from the FHP said the accident was reported along the southbound side of Interstate 75 near Mile Marker 283 in Pasco County, Florida.
Deputies from the Florida Highway Patrol said a tractor-trailer allegedly changed lanes and struck an SUV on the southbound side of I-75 near the 283 mile marker. Emergency responders pronounced the as-of-yet unidentified 57-year-old man driving the SUV and two passengers, a 53-year-old woman and a 16-year-old boy dead of their injuries at the scene of the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 75 cuts north and south through the center of Pasco County, which is about 35 miles north of downtown Tampa.
Florida Highway Patrol assisted after the accident.
