Details:
On or about Wednesday, October 6th, 2021, around 7:00 in the morning, an accident between a pickup truck and a log truck sent two people to the hospital. Officials from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported at the intersection of Highway 63 and County Road 273 just outside Jasper, Texas.
Deputies from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office said 54-year-old Turner Hartsfield and 82-year-old Johnnie Wagstaff were injured when Wagstaff’s pickup truck allegedly turned into the path of the log truck Hartsfield was driving. Paramedics transported Wagstaff and Hartsfield to a near nearby hospital with unspecified injuries after the accident.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of County Road 273 and Highway 63 is a short distance east of Jasper, which is about 134 miles northeast of downtown Houston.
Police are still investigating.
