Details:
On or about Thursday, December 30th, 2021, around 10:20 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and an SUV sent two individuals to the hospital. Troopers from the UHP said the accident was reported along Highway 89 near the Sardine Canyon in Cache County, Utah.
Authorities from the Utah Highway Patrol said two as-of-yet unidentified individuals were injured when a tractor-trailer allegedly lost control and jackknifed when it struck a nearby Nissan SUV. Paramedics transported the driver and one passenger in the Nissan SUV to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries after the accident. One other occupant in the Nissan SUV was uninjured in the collision.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 75 miles north of downtown Salt Lake City.
Police are still examining the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
