On or about Saturday, January 30th, 2021, around 8:30 at night, an accident between an 18-wheeler, a pickup truck, and a car sent two people to the hospital with serious injuries. Investigators from the State Police said the accident happened along Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike in Southington, Connecticut.
Police said two as-of-yet unidentified individuals were injured when a Chevrolet Silverado, a Volkswagen Jetta, and a tractor-trailer collided under unknown conditions. Paramedics rushed the driver of the Jetta and the driver of the Silverado to a nearby hospital with serious injuries after the accident. The driver of the 18-wheeler was reportedly uninjured.
According to Google Maps, Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike runs east and west through Southington with two lanes. Southington is situated about 19 miles southwest of Hartford.
Connecticut State Police and local law enforcement are investigating the accident.
