Details:
On or about Friday, January 14th, 2022, around 4:11 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle left two people dead and sent a third individual to the hospital. Deputies from the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along the eastbound side of Interstate 30 near the Gus Thomasson Road exit in Mesquite, Texas.
Officers from the MPD said two as-of-yet unidentified individuals were killed and a third person was injured when the passenger vehicle they were in allegedly struck the back of a tractor-trailer along I-30. Emergency responders pronounced the driver and a passenger in the car dead of their injuries, while a second passenger was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries after the accident.
Officials said they believe intoxication may have been a factor in the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 30 winds east and west through Mesquite, which is about 14 miles northeast of downtown Dallas.
Police are still investigating.
