Details:
On or about Thursday, December 23rd, 2021, between 12:00 and 7:00 in the morning, a serious hit-and-run accident left one individual dead. Deputies from the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported near 8155 R.L. Thornton Freeway in Dallas, Texas.
Police officers from the area said 56-year-old Willie Clyde Nelson Jr. was killed when he was allegedly struck by a vehicle as he was walking down or tried to cross the road in the area. After the initial impact with Nelson, the vehicle fled the scene of the accident. Paramedics pronounced Nelson dead a short time after the accident. Officials did not mention any other vehicles in their report on the incident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is on the south side of Dallas.
Authorities are still trying to track down the driver and vehicle that fled the scene.
